Durable, Hard-Wearing Protection for Dairy Shed Floors

CCM Dairy Floor is a tough, oil-based, solvent-borne protective coating specially designed for prepared concrete floors in dairy sheds and agricultural environments.

Formulated to withstand regular washdowns and livestock traffic, Dairy Floor provides a durable, hard-wearing finish to help protect concrete surfaces in demanding farming conditions.

Key Features

  • Durable Protection: Hard-wearing coating designed for agricultural flooring.
  • Washdown Suitable: Designed for environments requiring regular cleaning and washdowns.
  • Livestock Traffic: Suitable for dairy shed floors exposed to regular animal movement.
  • Versatile Application: Can be applied by brush, roller or spray.
  • Multi-Coat Protection: Minimum two-coat system for coverage and durability.
  • New Zealand Made: Manufactured by Commercial Coating Manufacturers (CCM).

Recommended Uses

  • Dairy shed concrete floors
  • Prepared concrete substrates
  • Agricultural flooring systems

Where additional slip resistance is required, Astra Paints also supplies a compatible anti-slip additive to help improve traction on coated floors.

Surface Preparation

Correct surface preparation is essential for maximum coating performance and adhesion.

  • Concrete must be clean, visibly dry and free from rising damp.
  • Remove all oil, grease, laitance, organic matter and other contaminants.
  • New concrete must cure for a minimum of 28 days before coating.
  • Mechanically prepare the surface by grinding or abrasive methods to achieve a sound, uniform profile suitable for coating adhesion.

Recommended Coats:

Apply a minimum of two coats. Additional coats may be required depending on surface condition, coverage and durability requirements.

Drying Times (at 20°C)

  • Touch Dry: Approximately 1 hour.
  • Recoat Time: Minimum 16 hours.
  • Full Cure: Varies depending on temperature, humidity, ventilation and coating thickness.

If the coating has fully cured or become contaminated before recoating, clean and abrade the surface to provide a suitable mechanical key.

Do not return the floor to livestock traffic, washdown or chemical exposure until the coating has fully cured.

Typical Coverage: 5–17m² per litre, per coat.

Actual coverage will vary depending on concrete porosity, surface profile, condition, application method and thinning.
